These are on YouTube already, that's why they showed that video at all congregations warning JWs not to talk too much at doors because of cameras 😄

Governing Body pre-'70s: All Shareholders?
by neat blue dog ini used to think that before the governing body was introduced in the 1970's as we know it today, that they used that term for the 7-member board of directors.
but the article written by milton henschel in the '50s that was just posted showed another angle.
apparently all shareholders were the "governing body" and the board was their representative, just like later they would say that all anointed ones were the faithful slave and the gb was their representative.. the governing body at present has 402 members, who reside in 29 countries and elect seven ministers as a board of directors.

Well no, the term shareholder has been used consistently by the org itself since then, up to even the most recent annual meeting, as I mentioned on the last page.

Social Media
by Emily1987 inas some of you may remember from a previous post of mine, myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
we began our fade in jan 2017 and haven't been to a meeting since may 2017. to say this time has been a struggle is an understatement.
it has been a lonely time for us, losing all of our so called friends.

No there was nothing explicit, or even close, not in my area (of the US) at least. The only thing I can think of is if you've been posting stuff that could disturb a JW, or if you've let any critical talk slip out in conversation.

Today is the date of Albert Einstein birthday 14 / 03
by smiddy3 incan we let this day go past without acknowledging his contributions to the betterment of human society ?.

It's ironic, if Einstein were alive today he would likely be rejected by his peers and kicked out of his field due to the #metoo movement, seeing as it's been documented that he would invite female guests over wearing nothing but a bath robe, and flash himself 'by accident'.

JW Jokes
by OnTheWayOut inthey don't want you to donate blood because..... .....it might be within the erection of a homosexual act at any time.
watchtower tried to become the internet service provider of their members...... ......but their virus software kept deleting all but 144,000 select files.
what do you get when you cross a devil worshipper with a jehovah's witness?

What does a complex of individually owned apartments have to do with Anthony Morris's birth control?
They're both a condominium.

I like stubble long and full beard best, both of which I've had. Funny that a Van Dyke was worn by Van Amburgh 😆

truth_b_known:
I googled The Thing just to see Kurt Russell's beard you mentioned, which led me into a rabbit hole reading about John Carpenter's version, its' prequel, the '50s version, and the original story it was based on. Fascinating stuff, I'll have to watch it some time.

I can second the motion that you moisturize your beard while it's growing out. I know some might think it's not important, and maybe different people react differently, but speaking for myself here's why:
It isn't normal to shave. It isn't normal to grow a beard from scratch as a full grown man. For some, when the beard is still short, like in the 1 to 3 week range, the small hard hairs can reach back and poke your skin causing inflammation or sometimes even infection. This can persist even after the beard is of good length and be uncomfortable or painful. That's why it's good to keep the hair soft while it's in that crucial scruff-to-real-beard stage. Then you should be good to go with normal upkeep/grooming.
Happy bearding!
